Well, I made the A main too and I just could not keep my truck with all four on the ground. Damn thing kept going up on it's side. Somehow I got third which was my qualifying position so I gained no ground. The winner was Jason Swift, 1st position to the end, whoever he is, never got to meet him. A guy I met from QURC got second from 4th start. Was a fun day otherwise. I got to see some on road racing on a bigger scale which was nice.

Rossb made the "B Main" and that's how I got pics of him racing. I couldn't get shots of Bucrana since we both races "A Main"

Jason Swift was some kid about 15 years old. He walked off with first place along with a new R40 kit.

What did you guys end up choosing as your free HPI body?
I chose a WRX car body since at the time I was choosing, there were no Savage bodies at the moment. Either way, I wanted a car body instead of a truck body since I have plenty truck bodies and only two car bodies.

Thanks for the great pics NJRC!! I hope someone has some shots of your run.

I had major problems with my tie rods in both qualifying heats. They kept popping off and I had to pull off the track numerous times and run down to the truck to fix them. The tie wraps I tried on my second qualifier were not able to hold the tie rod ends. I did not finish any of the qualifying heats so I got placed as # 6 out of 12 entries in B Main.

After my second qualifier I went over to the parts table and bought two sets of HPI’s plastic shock parts for the Savage. These parts bag contained new tie rod ends. I installed the eight new tie rod ends in the pits and aligned everything by eye. I came out strong in the “B” Main and the tie rods held up. I was in second for most of the race but I flipped near the end and the Marshall took a while to flip me back. I dropped to third and finished that way.

I have to say that the Savage races were certainly the most fun to watch. Trucks were flipping and flying everywhere and they sounded better than the touring cars!

I took the Hemi Cuda Body (the only Savage body they had). I really wanted the Jeep, the Charger, or the El Camino.

Any updates on pics from the A main. I see HPI hasn't bothered to post pics yet.

pretty cool pics.......should have had more action racing photos

Me too, I am only in the group photo. My girlfriend will never believe I was there on Sunday, Day 2 of the event.

That's me, right behind the winner at one point. I think it was that one flip before the straight away that did the most damage to my time. Nothing worse than a marshall not paying any atention to his corner. Was still fun though, win or lose.

I guess Jason Swift was allowed to run NON stockers.
I thought everyone had to run stock HPI Savage tires and rims???????

Here are there rules:

REQUIRED ENTRIES

TIRES
- HPI Savage truck tires must be used
- HPI Savage truck wheels must be used
