The races are in Rockland County, not L.I.

Punch your address in here.

Just a little info on the HPI challenge for you guy's.
All savages must run stock tires.
The chassis has to be stock as well. Anything else goes.
I stripped out the hexes on my Savage last year. That sucked.
As far as bashing after.
Last years race lasted well into the night. Like 12:00-1:00am.
You will have to put your radio in Tech, so you wont have it to play with while others are qualifying.
There were like 25 to 30 heats of qual, @ 5 minutes each with breaks and about 5 to 10 minutes in between each heat.
Last year, I had 2 heats to qualify on Saturday, 1 heat to qualify on Sunday, And the mains on Sunday night.
So if your only going to go on Saturday, It wont count towards anything.
If I remember correctly, It was like 5 hours before I got to run again.
I'm not trying to discourage anyone, just want you to know what your in for. A long 2 days.
It is fun to watch the races also. I suggest that If you have never been to one, do it. It an experence.
Any other questions, let me know.
Just one more thing. This is a race fellas, not a bash. there will be rules that you have to follow.
Later.

Ratzo,

Who holds the radios in Tech? That makes me a bit nervous, my radio is an expensive FM computer radio and I do not want someone walking off with it.

During racing (or qualifying) did you have to put to refuel or did you run the entire race on one tank of fuel?

Last year, 6 foot tiger hosted the HPI challenge.
I guess it was them who held the radios.
It's in a secure booth. I put my 3PK in tech...not a problem.
I only raced the savage last year. there was no gas pitting in my class.
I dont recall how they did the A main last year.

Ross, I talked to Tom Jr. and he said you might have to pit-in and refuel. He also mentioned that they wanted to add on the track for the off road races. They want to make it so part of the track will be directed into the grass and back onto the track again. Not crazy abou that idea myself but what ya gonna do.

What time are you guys going to get there? They are predicting rain for Saturday. Is this event cancelled if it rains?

I plan on getting there around 10 to get a layout of track and practice time.
It will be a long day of racing so I suggest bring a cooler and some snacks since there is nothing around the college that is really close by.

Well I know that the college they are having the event at used to hold auto and boat shows inside the gym but with all the nitro fumes, I doubt they will move the event indoors if it rains.
I saw no postings on bruckner's website or info in the HPI rules regarding weather. If it does rain and the races are cancelled Sat, they may do an all day Sun race and if not, then I either better get half or preferrably full registration fee back to me plus my free hat and body for registering early.

They told me that racing/qualifying starts @ 10 so you might be late.

oh....my bad. I was looking at the schedule that HPI post. Then I guess I shall be there around 9 to get a feel of the track.

I just got this email:

We start at 8AM for practice . Qualifying starts at 12 noon. We will work around that schedule. Rain will delay things but we will run as the weather permits
tom baffer

I would get their as soon as could if I were you. There will be a couple of hundred people there to race.
You'll wind up pitting in the woods. Get in early and get a good spot.

shhhh ;)

uhm?...OK....early then I said it shall be then.
I was at Bruckner's today, Brian helps me out alot and they are building track Friday.....I may swing by and give them a hand.

Ok, I got to check out the track and it's not too bad although it may be a little narrow for the Savages. The ramps are wooden with sheet metal at the bottom. For those of you thinking about showing late, word of advice, get there early because there are people there already camping out and apparently they got there before the Bruckner crew did. Also, if you are coming in from College Rd., when you turn in, go to the stop sign, make a right, follow that road all the way around until the very end and you will see the lots where the track is. it think its very unfair that those people are camping out there but what are you gonna do. I think the Bruckner guys should have told them to leave and had security keep them out. I hope it rains all fuckin night, thunder too so the pricks get no kinda sleep. :boxing:

Anyways, good luck to all, hope we all have fun.

Are you guys heading up there if it is raining? I looked at the forcast, it does not look to good. If it is pouring in the AM, I might wait until sunday to go.

weather looks good to me. Besides, brian from bruckner said if it rains, they will wait it out til it just passes by and continue with the races. he does not have time to hold two days of racing on Sunday due to weather change on Sat.

As far as the campers, I did not get a chance to be at the track to check out the build, but the camping thing is totally BS since Bruckner did post of hotels in the area.
