Hpi 3 gear???

Hi, in an HPI 3 gears are sitting, two clutch holders them with the little split taht is driving off when it reaches a certain number of rotations in one of the clutch holders, there is a checkmark in why is it ??????? Here is a picture that is as up in the left corner:

not sure what you mean. The 2nd piece to the right at the top left? The one that looks like it has a little piece missing? One hole is for a cross pin to thread into which connects it to a shaft and the other is the shift adjustment.
