from A Scale To 1-10 How Well Does A Wasp .28 Hold A Tune? I Know They Are A Nightmear To Tune But I got that Covered. All I'm Wondering Is How Well They Hold A Tune? And When You Lose A Tune Do The Needles Move Or What? I Can Mark Where It Was To Tune It Back There If This Is The Case. When An Engine Looses It Tune (on A Wasp) How Many Turns do i Need To fix It? Cuz Wasps Are Very Sensitive To Slight Tweaks. I Dont Wanna tweak It Too Much. But Seeing How They Are Very Sensitive I Prolly Dont Have To Tune Them That Much. I Hope This Engine Isnt A Pain In The A$$! I wasn't Getting N E help On The Power Plant Forum So I'm Gonna Try Asking The Same Q Here.
Thanks I Would Appriciate Answers To All My Questions But If You can't Answer All Of them Thats Cool Too.
Thank You
MARK

i agree, and nobody needs to know your going to bed.

Mark,

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you dont want to/dont know how to tune.
In that case stay away from the racing engines and if you want more power do yourself a favor. HPI K46 motor. 2 needles and if it holds to most of the other HPI mills fairly easy to tune.

Saw a guy running a K46 at the track and it had tons of power to move the truck.

I am with nevaren prob is he already bought the wasp. Heres his post from power plants. How Well Does The Wasp Hold A Tune
From A Scale Of 1-10 How Well Does A Wasp .28 Hold A Tune? I'm Getting Mine Put In Today. And I Was Just Wondering If It Was Gonna Be A Pain In The Ass Engine. I Know Its Hard To Tune (But I Got That Covered). I'm More Woried About How Well It Keeps A Tune. And In The Event that I Need to Tweak It A Little How Much? Cuz Wasps Are Very Sensitive You Dont have To Tweak Them That Much to See A Difference...And I Also Dont Wanna Tweek It Too Much.

Thanks
Mark

Lets put it this way if you dont know how to tune I would wait a while to have the wasp put in. Also when you say you re having the wasp put in Does that mean you 're doing it or your LHS?

looking back i see this is your 3rd engine in 2 months .... i know you seized the s-25 but what happened to the .21? .....fine tuning is something very diffucult to do over the internet you just need to make a VERY small adjustment then run it a minute and feel if its running better or worse and go from there .....on a side note your 4th engine should be a xtm 24.7, from personal experiance this engine will give you the power & ease of tune your looking for

thank you retarded pilot. My First engine I Seized Or Something On The Lines Of That Because I Tuned It To What The Hpi Book Said (which Turned Out To Be Wrong For My Elivation. My 21 Was Tuned Right I Just Picked Up A Wasp For A Really Good Deal That I Couldnt Pass Up.

I am going to agree with retarded pilot and suggest a 24.7. It has a lot of power, but it is controllable. Plus, it is easily the easiest to tune engine I have ever had, and I've had like 9 or something engines. Definetely take a look at the 24.7.

The Wasp has more power, but is harder to tune, but will hold a tune decently, but not as good as the 24.7. That engine will run pretty good on just about any needle setting and unless the weather changes drastically it will stay tuned fine.

cool. I Will Prolly Stick With My Wasp Though If It Holds A Good Tune And Occording To You guys it does. Thats Cool. I Would rather Drive It Then Tune It All Day thats Why I Didnt Get The Collari. Thanks! But In The Future I Will Pick Up A 24.7 When I Get A New Engine When I Need One. I Got My Wasp And Hyper Both Great Engines Hyper Is Back Up now though...so it will be a while Specially If I Like the Wasp Thanks Again!!!!

wasp .28

a wasp .28 you say,you are entering a world of grief with that motor.they are built by a company in japan no longer in italy like the .26 was, they dont
have the power i expected, plus they as you say are very sensitive to needle
adjustments, after 1 gallon i had air leaks all over, plus the front crank shaft
started leaking fuel(its steel not rubber)i contact orion they sent me a new
rubber sealed bearing, then the sleave would not come out,so any who i pulled it and bought the collari .30...twice the motor,3x the power, and easiler
tuning on 30% fuel.
this is just my opion

i use a Wasp .28 on 2 Trucks and there both hold a Tune well for me the temp on one runs a little hoter then i like 255 the other one runs cool 200 to 215 but there both holds a good Tune
