RC Driving Style
hi I'm just wondering in genral how tuff these little cars are, i had finished breaking my engine in today and i have seemed to of got it tuned right, so i floored it and it went up the banking of a curb and flipped over and landed upside down, it was fine when i turned it over, I'm guessing they can take small light impacts right? :S
thanks

depends what kind of truck it is , but generally theyre pretty though, my buddie hit big jumps with there off-roads and they dont break too much....but...eventually it will break and you're gonna have to learn how to fix it , and its better to know your truck good if you want to enjoy it most

IMO, hobby grade RC's are very tough. A lot of people will run into a tree going 35 mph and break an A-Arm and start creaming "These are junk, I got in one lil accident and now I have to spend $100 on repairs." Me response is, you're the one that was controlling the car, and you're the one who rammed it head on into a curb, now who is the junk again?

It also depends on which vehicle it is, as some are designed to be heavy and strong, and some are designed to be lightweight and fast. It's always the people with the heavy ones that don't like how there car handles like a brick because it weighs 12 pounds, and the fast ones always say the car is to fragile. I guess you just gotta decide what you're looking for BEFORE you buy it.

Yeap. If you REALLY like crashing in to stuff or doing huge jumps or heavy bashing, go with the Savage. They're nearly indestructible. For speed or racing you should definitely go with the Revo, or the LST2 if you want 1/8 scale size.

The awesome thing about hobby grade r/c is that if you do break them, and you will eventually, they can be easily repaired. Most major manufacturers even offer detailed .PDF files online of exactly where each part goes, the part number for it, and some even include the msrp on the part so you can get a ballpark estimate of repairs. You either like to tinker or you don't, and if you don't then radio controlled vehicles might not be a long-lived hobby for you.

I hate to break stuff, but at the same time it's just an excuse to buy a better part to replace it with and make it better than new. Plus it gives you something to do on the rainy days. I'ts really a hobby that includes many other hobbies.

You can paint, customize, repair, troubleshoot, enjoy, spend 3-5 hours at work on this website talking about the hobby, etc...lots of different things all wrapped up into one great hobby.

And if you do hit a tree or curb and break something No One gets hurt, you don't have to call your insurance agent, and the repair bill is whole lot less!!!!!

IMO wrenching is 50% of the hobby. If these RC's weren't upgradeable or even mod-able then it wouldn't be a hobby. It would just be an expensive toy.
