I'm in the the navy and will be storing my savage 21 for about a year. What is the best way to store the engine to where it will work when I come back home.

what i would do is clean it really well, take out the batts and put plenty of after run oil in the carb and glowplug hole. Oh and also i wouldn't leave it out in the garage. not a big deal for a few days or so. But i have left a few old engines out there for extended periods before and they get all gumy and moisture condenses on the inside due to very hot or very cold weather. Not cool.

You probably dont have to worry about the truck itself too much but i would definitly try to keep it in as dry a place as possible.

Some guys I've heard take their engines out and bathe them in after run oil then keep them closed up in a ziplock bag.

I feel that if you just follow the already given suggestions you should be fine. Clean everything, remove all batts, plug your carb and exhaust ports, (dont want bugs in your engine) use plenty of After run oil and keep it as dry as possible.

my little bro said thank hell do it before he leaves to go back
