There will be some play due to the gears, spaces between the axle pins & the outdrives and what not... and every truck will vary some with the "free play movement".

Check the play with the wheel off. You'll notice just a small amount. The tire amplifies it. But it is a really good thing to keep an eye on. If you notice it getting worse over time, check for worn shaft pins and set screws.

Yea there is not really any adjusting that can be done for "freeplay" it pretty much comes down to how they're made.

Don't worry about it to much

If your getting excessive play from the stub shaft in the knuckle, you may be able to use a clutch or diff shim to take a bit of the slop out. Place the shim on the stub shaft before you slide it in to the knuckle or behind the hex pin with the stub shaft already in the knuckle. Just check for binding. If you tighten your wheel nut down and the tire gets hard to spin, there's no room for the shim.
