How much to rebuild?

Hi ppl, anyone knows how much DURATRAX charge to rebuild DTX 0.18 from evader? And, how do i know if the engine is low on compression? Thanks.

To check for compression, try turning the engine with the flywheel still on and pug installed. If it can be turned over easily, then it's time to get rid of it. Honestly though, It may make you happier to get another engine. The OS18 TM or TZ is a nice mill. More than enough power and torque monsters!

Ya, w/ the money you spend by having duratrax rebuilding it, you could buy a OS 18 CV-RX like diver said. And plus it'll be a much better engine that will last longer and make more power. And they're around $100

turn the flywheel and if it turns without little force its low. thats only way i can explain it. to answer your question i dont know how much it cost but why dont you just do it you save plus get the experience. heres what you need to completley rebuild it

or you could save 50 dollars more and buy a better engine like o.s. .12 cvrx for 100.00 or the .15 for the same

Damn those parts are cheap...I wish all engine parts were that cheap...

or you could spend another $30 and get a much better mill. Can't beat the reliability and ease of tune of an OS Engine.

good engine but remember it a duratrax evader and that thing put alot of power out. watch out for differential gears might strip pretty easly. dogbones might. these are just some probs i had when i put a o.s. .15 in it.

yes but it is a probaly the only bad engine o.s has made. go with the. cvr you wont regret it.
