I've been running 20% odonels with an MC59 plug for months.. all other plugs have gone quick but this mc59 .. i have an mc8 and mc9 but havent burned out the mc59 yet, if i went to 30% nitro should i switch to the mc8 or 9 ? will this result in anymore noticable power from a stock .12ntc3 does any of this change air filter needs? i use a paper/foam outer seems sufficient

With 30% fuel you need to burn a colder plug than the mc59 hot. Yes you should notice a difference in start up and response with 30% fuel. As far as a filter goes i always run two stage foam filters. Your gonna have to tune the engine to run richer with 30% fuel as well. Because you will be running richer you should notice a bit cooler temps also. The best mix should be around 30% nitro with a 10-11% oil mix. To mee the less oil the easier to tune and better running temps and performance.

So I got some odonels 30% today... Switched from the mc-59 to the mc-9 .. Ran well but plug burned out in half a tank... I switched back to the 59... Started right up.. That particular plug I have run for a gallon of 20% we'll see how long it last on 30%tomorrow... I have a mc-8 but I've ran several medium plugs of different kind with 20% and none have lasted more than one tank... Associated recommends the mc59 for the ntc3 I asked um myself... Though I didn't mention nitro%. What do you think.? (Anyone) am I doing something wrong? The mc9 cold 59 hot 8 low-mid... It just dont make sense to me why these cold plugs burn out so fast.. I've run them rich.. Run um lean it just dont seem to matter...

Well in your case i would run what you have the best luck with. As long as your keeping good temps and getting good engine performance stick with the mc-59 hot and 30%. That is the plug I've had the best luck with myself even when i was still running 30% fuels.

Hey Z I ran a few tanks of odonnels 30% and some I mixed 1/2,20% 1/2 30% on that same old mc59 .. It just keeps on trucking... I was reading about the odonnels (that their speed blend and race blend both have 8% oil... Race is synthetic and the speed blend is a synthetic/oil blend still at 8%. You mentioned using about an 11% oil blend... I've read many fuels have too much oil... Though I'm not experienced with it really.. Should I be adding additional oil or is the 8% synthetic ok? It burns a lot cleaner than the older stuff (even older odonnels) and easier to tune easy I seem to be getting much easier starts on the 30% but I also added a longer pressure line which seems to help also..

No dont add oil. 8% is plenty and as long as you tune it good enough you should still be getting a nice smoke trail even with lessor oil content. Heavy oil content fuels are good for breakin and bashing but it also is harder to tune to. I love the speed blend with 8% and also loved the sidewinder 30% with 10% oils. Also like i stated before i really prefer mccoy mc59 hot plugs and have had excellent luck with runtime and life out of them vs any other brand of plug I've ran.
