i was wondering about how long a trx 3.3 motor will last and how many gallons it will go through befor a rebuild is required. just so i have the money when its time to rebuild thanks brandon

Well it really depends on how well you break it in and the way you treat it but I have one that still runs great at 5 gallons which is allot of bashing for the $115 replacement cost in my opinion compared to some other motors. I have also had one that threw a connecting rod @ 2.5 gallons but I was also leaning on it pretty heavily.

5-7 gallons is reasonable, just watch those crank bearings during and after break in. You'll hear it at idle if they go bad. Trx 3.3's are very tight when new and those cheap crank bearings don't always hold up to the forces of all that pinch. For what it is just get new traxxas bearings after it loosens up, you'll be good to go.
