UPDATED: How do you adjust the LSN on your engine???

Just wondering how I am supposed to adjust the LNS on my Maxx. The fuel tank is right in the way. There is no way you can get a screwdriver in that area to make adjustments.

The best thing to do is a carb flip.
Rotate the carb 180 and modify the linkage to fit.
Is not hard at all. This will put the LSN on the other side where its easy to get at.

You will also need to reverse the throttle servo on your TX.
Do a search on Carb Flip.

Hmmm...doing that might create another problem. That would put the ISS on the other side and then that might be hard to access. I can't say that for sure atm. I am at work.

It is the first mod recommended to do on the original T-Maxx.
Trust me on this one, you wont be disappointed.
I'm sure if asked, every veteran on this forum will recommend it.

Cruse the gallery and see if you can find a pic.
I'm off to the airport to get my wife. If you can't find a pic I will post one when I get back.

To bad www.maxxskunkworks.com is down for the count, they had a step by step article

Here you go. Its not the best but it will get you going.

Having the ilde stop in back is a bit of a pain, but not horrible. When I did it on my TRX, I just milled a groove in the lowest cooling head fin so a small screwdriver would fit and adjustment was no problem.

yes i had to do the same thing, it made me mad because i was never able to reach the lsn so i took and flipped the carb around. that was all nice and dandy untill i ran into another problem. like u have said already u werent really able to get to the idle needle. well nothing a dremel can't do, i took and grinded down the part of the fin taht was right on it. that fixed it all.

lol and I thought I was being creative by grooving out a small divot in the fins to get to the idle screw. haha guess not, seeing that EVERYONE has done this too. i'm all about the almighty dremmel.....nothin that thing can't fix!

Well here is my version of the throttle linkage after I rotated my carb so I could gain access to the LSN. Any thought and improvements would be great. It seems to work nice atm. There is a little flex between the two bends but it does operate smooth. I am going to run it tomorrow and see how it goes. Depending how it goes I might have to make some adjustments.

The good news is I don't have to do any grinding to the head. I have enuff clearance to the ISS to make adjustments.

Well I started working on my Maxx as soon as I woke up. It seems that getting the break linkage to work was almost more of a PITA than the throttle linkage. I am not that happy with it. It will work and slow the truck down but it isn't compressing the breaks as hard like the old setup. I am not sure what I could do to help this out. I still have my old springs from the reverse setup I could use but I am not sure how I would go about doing that. Again any comments/ideas are welcome. :) Now I just need to finish running the new fuel line with the fuel filter I purchased and some final adjustment on the break and throttle setup and I should be good to go. :)

Well the thottle linkage is working great. I didn't have any problems running it and it operated just as smooth as the old setup. I was very happy with it. However the brakes leave a lot to be desired. It seems as I need almost the same stopping distance as a semi! I am still kicking around the idea to see if I can figure out a better way.
