does ANYONE know how to tune my motor so i can play in the snow with it. i would really like to do dounts and crap...but i don't want my motor to blow up. so if you know how please tell!!!!

Wrap the head to get the heat up and tune it rich. Don't forget to waterproof your servos and electronics.

Yep, he pretty much nailed everything for ya. There are two popular methods of waterproofing your electronics. You can dip them in Plasti-dip (a liquid rubber product, you can get this at Lowes) or you can wrap them with a party balloon. When it's cold outside you need to tune your HSN more to the rich (more fuel) side. And, in order for the engine to run well it needs to get up to temp. It can't get too hot OR too cold. I think most people just wrap it with an part of an old sock or maybe some aluminum foil.

Actually, I've never wrapped my engine head before. I've only ran my truck like once in the cold, and that was a couple years ago before I knew any better. Maybe something like this...

Maybe I was just lucky, but I ran mine a lot last year in the snow with no wrap on the head and I didn't waterproof anything. I did have to tune it a bit richer to run good and if I let it stay out too long in the cold it was harder to start. Couldn't really do doughnuts too well in the snow, but oh man, the ice was awesome! Great fun!

Looks like killer fun, makes me want to go to the mountains and play in all the fresh powder!

Let us know how it goes nitro nut. They say we're going to get 5-6" on Thursday here, but I won't get to play in it. I haven't been able to run my truck for 6-7 months now and since I've made a bunch of changes, I don't want to mess with getting it dialed in on the snow. Plus I'm getting old, the cold really gets to me a lot more than it used to!

hey the sock without the aluminum tape or foil works best. my truck gave a 4 ft rooster with paddles on it. yea i g2g play in the snow. I'm a young 13 year old so i can take cold runs.

I just played in the snow with mine! I just bought it used off of ebay it was missing the rotor start handheld thingy. SO had to wait for it to ship! It was something like 14 degrees today! Anyways i didnt wrap the head it ran pretty good on stock needle settings. I didnt do a full tank of gas, but a half because my battery for the servos wasn't charged all the way. so battery went then i stopped playing but was fun.

Now, does anyone have any pictures of how they water proofed the servos? I understand the concept of wraping the head. Thanks. Today was my first experience with a Nitro RC! I'm happy i picked a Savage! Any tips for noobies let me know :)
