how do i set the gear meshing?

i have a traxxas tmaxx 3.3 ... i want to make sure i set the gear meshing right between the clutch bell and the spur gear ... how do i do this
 
use a copy paper tear a small strip loosen ur motormount just enough for it too be moved put the gears touching then run the paper through leave the paper in and tighten the motor mounts.also u want too be able too spin the spur gear clockwise w/ur finger and not fell any binding/grinding.now ur ready to bash
