My Savage seems to flip/roll very easily. Is this normal? Are there ways to improve it? Will changing end point adjustment help? I've put on 7" Blast wheels/Goliath tires hoping it would improve things, but I reckon it's made it worse (only driven it a little bit as I lost a wheel nut & couldn't continue) :(

Currently have stock pink springs with all the spacers loaded.

What seemed to make it worse ?? for me my savage never rolls after i got my hot bodies 7" wheels.. i can swerve all i want and just either drifts or just sticks to the ground.

Just seems really top heavy. If I try & turn at any speed (even to turn round on a straight speed run) it wants to roll. Would stiffer springs help? Maybe it's because I've mainly been trying it on roads (so the tyres are gripping more)?

Lower the ride hight and widen the width of the rig, with off set wheels or spacers. Install sway bar kit.

How do I lower the ride height? The Blast wheels/Goliath tyres already seem really wide :(

r the ride height. before I've got same problem but now even I turn fast no problem and I add stirring dumper it make more steady.

Did you remove all your suspension spacers or just some of them?

What's a stirring dumper?

I had the same question, What is a "stirring" dumper?

Oh never mind, I think he meant Steering damper.

thanks

Upgrade to the XL axles and some 1/2 offset wheels. Wider is better. Softer front springs also helps.

Sorry guys wrong spelling, thanks for the correction. To limit the ride height I put fuel line tube on the rod but it should be inside the shock. The one who give this idea is Mr Pope one of the member in this forum. About the stirring damper I used long travel shocks with a very very light shock oil. screw the one end to the bulk head and the other head to the turn buckle.

Are you braking hard when you turn? That could cause it to flip if so

Took it for a test run today with all the shock spacers removed & shocks attached to innermost posts and the improvement was amazing. Got it drifting a bit & even a couple 180's under braking. Very impressed!

Think I'm gonna fit the sway bar kit & the red stiff springs to see how that affects it..

Anyone know what grade oil I should use with the red HPI shock springs?

Gone for the HPI sway kit, white springs & 35wt oil...

Post some pictures of the sway kit when installed, I have never seen one on a Savage.

Will do. Should be here in a couple of days. Will experiment with the new set-up on a high friction surface (asphalt) & post my findings too..

I'm really enjoying this forum. It's taught me a lot, in the short time I've been here. Pretty surprised by some of your collections and competency.

Here's the front & back sway kit installed on my Savage X 4.6 today. Put in a Savox 1256TG steering servo & moved the stock HPI steering servo (SF-20W) to throttle/brake. Just gotta test drive it now ;)

Installing my aluminium shocks. I've noticed the ball sleeve doesn't fit inside as there's no recess to keep them in place & they've provided a white plastic sleeve instead. The problem with that is when tightened, there's no movement like you get with the stock ones. Is this a problem? Should I tighten all the way so there's no movement whatsoever or leave a little room (which means the bolt can slide a bit as not done up all the way)? Here's a pic of the problem..
