I was just wondering if anyone else here collects Hot Wheels cars? I have around 1500 give or take a few, lol. I

I have also been putting together as many as possible from each of the years my two sons were born. I have all the 2000 first editions for my oldest son, and a few Treasure hunts, and other misc 2000 cars. I am still working on all the 2004 first editions for my youngest son so I have been going through them all to see whats missing, and I have about half the 2004 treasure hunts for him. I will give them to them in a few years so that they will have the completed f/e sets from the years they were born.

It just reminded me how much I love these little cars. So I was just curious if any of you guys collected them. I have been collecting since late 95, and all mine on still sealed on the cards.

I wouldn't call what I do collecting because they get used. I started buying them as soon as I found out we were having a boy, he has quite a few complete sets but all were opened.....I have a hard time not opening toys LOL. I still grab one or two every time I'm in Wolly World.

I collect some of them. I'm not as hardcore as alot of collectors. I just go by the ones I think are cool, or if I see the red banded tire ones at garage sales Ill pick them up. Cool hobby to get into though. Nc ya should post up some pics of your collection. Id like to check it out!

Cool, thanks Buzzard. I am making a list of the 2004s I need for my younger sons collection, and I am always interested in Red-Lines and treasure hunts.

4u, I don't have many of them photographed yet, but I can post up a few that I do. Picked up a few nice ones this weekend, on is quite hard to find, HW say that two of the 2006 first edition will be produced in lower numbers, and I found one yesterday, it's the 55 Panel, it has a chrome motorcyle in the back of it as well...

I really only like the ones that look like real cars. Too many of them are made up rediculous looking cars. And unfortunately a lot of the 2004s that are in my younger sons set are those stupid looking made up cars. I really like the two Chargers I found this weekend.

That panel is pretty sick! I like that Road runner alot also.

I could tell ya but I would have to kill ya!

J/K, most were from K-Mart Hot Wheels special events. They hold them every three months at all K-marts, and you usually get an unopened case to go through before they hit the shelves. I actually have doubles of the ones I posted pics of.

I like to use my doubles to trade for other ones I don't have.

Unfortuneatly NC, I don't have any treasure hunts or red-lines. Never got that deep into.......lol.....

I do have alot of the "regular" cars though. Most of which are the FE's, I do have some of the "series" from around that year as well......I think..........

After I get your list, I'll see If I can help ya out........oh yea.....the Baja is my pic out of the above....something about a V-Dub..........

My Mom still has most of the Hot Wheels I had back when I was a kid, so we're talking some are, at minimum, 30 years old. She keeps them in a bucket and when my family visits she hauls them out for my daughter and son to play with.

'Course, what happens is, my brother and I see them, start remembering how we used to play with them then low and behold, we're arguing about who's is who's! I did snag my brother's Red Baron hot rod (remember that one with the pewter helmet as the body?) even though I know it was his. Hell, he's younger, tough toe nails, kiddo!

My son still gets them and I admit, I still have fun lining them up!

I still have my hot wheels and I have a few red lines. Especially the Silver shadow.

I probably have a several hundred Hot Wheels in boxes in the garage. I used to actively collect them but haven't done so in years. I don't even know what I have any more.
