ok when my engine gets warm the truck stops running and won't start untill it is cool again I want it to stay running longer than 1/3 of a tank of gas what am i doing wrong

How warm are we talking?? I would also say that you might want to richen it out a little, because you might be too lean. Are you seeing a lot of smoke when you are running? Try the spit test on the cooling fins to see how hot it is...get some spit on the end of your finger, and rub it on the cooling fin on the side of the motor, if the spit sizzles off right away (less than a second), your too lean, if it stays for a few seconds before sizzling off you should be good. Although, a temp gun would be your best bet, I am too cheap to buy one, and the spit test has worked for me.

Do you have a temp gun to read the temp at the glow plug? Sometimes when these engines get hot and stop running until they again get cool, means its usually time for a new Piston/Sleeve and possible conrod...

How old is this engine in question?

It's an easy job to replace the piston/sleeve and conrod if u need to, Takes me about a half hour, as long as my bearings are still good and not leaking...
