I just bought one of these and installed it like 2 weeks ago. i finally was able to run it today. at first i didnt notice much difference in breaking distance so I'm like great waste of money. well i tried dialing the knob on the brake rod on the servo. and it made a huge difference for one full speed stop then the brake pad ripped! i guess it was to much. now I'm going to have to wait another week atleast to get some new pads! if i can find them at a LHS! AAARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!

if you just got it is comes with 2 pairs of brake pads... and you are suppose to CA glues on them... I am well please with it...

humm mine only came with one pair. unless you mean one pair of metal ones and one rubber like stuff? i will glue them the next time. maybe i can glue the torn one down and it will work.

PS Thanks for the link Woodie!!!

I got the HPI dual disc brake kit and when I first installed them the truck would do stoppies and literally to a front flip if I hit the brakes hard. I backed off the adjuster so they were a little more user-friendly and they have been sweet jesus for the entire summer (2gal of fuel) but now the pads are so worn out that the disk is actually starting to wear thin. So new pads are on thier way..actually two sets. I think this is the best way to have awesome brakes and replacing pads every 2gal of fuel is pretty cheap

Does anyone have a better brake that is less expensive to up-keep??
