Ok here is my laundry list of parts i think the truck needs. Give me some opinions on it.

1. Motor-saver air filter assembly to replace the stock HPI one.
2. LRP .30 or OS.30 to replace the Axial .28RR
3. HPI big bores to replace the stock shocks
4. Lunsford turnbuckles to replace the stockers

Now that being said, for what i am gonna spend on this truck, i could have another nitro. :D

Its runs pretty dang good right now so what do you think? Mod the heck out of it even more or get another truck?

3 speed transmission, fail safe. Depends of how much money you wanna put on it too.:\

Maybe i should list whats already on it first.

FLM extended tvp's
FLM motor plate
FLM servo plate
FLM servo mount with throttle servo moved to the rear
MGT Mid tank mod done
CEN diff's
MIP CVD's at all 4 corners
JR 8711 steering servo
Hitec 645MG throttle servo
Axial .28RR with mugen 3 shoe clutch and vented 16T clutchbell
3 speed tranny
RPM arms
Maximizer beadlocks with hpi agressor tires
DX3R radio gear

I think thats it

already have the 3 speed and no need for a failsafe with the spektrum

:sorry: My bad man, disregard my last transmition...

i should have listed it first.

Basically the axial .28 gets the job done even though i miss my old OS .30 and the other things aren't really extremely important. The truck has taken some serious beatings and runs great so i just don't know if i want to spend more on parts that really aren't all that necessary.

The choice is yours man, but like you said, that Savage is pretty much ready to go...:)

Once you start modding there really is no point to stopping IMO. You'll just end up with a red-headed step rig that will never really feel finished. I say go for it.

i just want to make sure i don't spend it where it doesn't make sense. I like lunsfords and think they are great but i have never had a problem with the stock turnbuckles. SO do i upgrade or leave them alone. A motor saver is always worth the money so i will probably get that for sure.

The truck is a basher so so i really need better shocks? I am just rolling and flipping this thing.

bah, i am gonna beat on it tomorrow and think about it.

Picco .28,the new motorsaver and big bore shocks will make that truck perfect.

And I'd also go for some proline mulchers over the aggressors.

I agree bud. No need to upgrade parts you don't break. And shocks would be a waste of dough if they don't leak. Of course smooth shocks are nice but in a basher you don't need the best of the best, as long as they don't leak or pop tops I say stay with your stockers unless you're upgrading for looks.

I say do the filter and LRP :2cents:

That works out pretty good. I had 300 saved for a motor but then i got the deal of the century on an in dash dvd player so my motor fund is at 0 again. I'll pick up an air filter tomorrow and then just bash it until something breaks.

I might even get a video up today. :whhooo:

picked up a few spare parts and the motor saver filter today. Got to run the truck at the track and thats the last time i run the truck in the dirt. Its unbelieveable how nasty the truck gets and all that fine dirt gets everywhere. Nothing but grass and pavement from now on.

I did get to beat on the truck pretty hard and that axial is really starting to come alive. Still has faily weak low end torque but as long as you keep the rpm up, it holds it own. Got a few 7-8 foot jumps on it and made the lhs worked cringe on some of the landings. Overall the truck is running great and i think i will pick up the rear tie rod eliminators and then leave it alone for awhile.

How do you figure that?
By the way, I just ordered alloy bumpers for it.

I know there's something else I need, just can't think of what it was.

get your own thread! :D

and yes rolex, your rig will never be finished. never.

I've heard the stock shocks leak a lot. I'd definitely do the big bores or get the LST shock mod. You could probably strengthen the stock ones though. Have you used Teflon tape on the thread of the shocks? I've heard that it really helps against the leaking.

I'd get the shocks, and a new motor is always cool. Heck, that way you will have a spare which is always nice. I would wait on the turnbuckles till you break one of the stockers. Anytime I can't think of anything to get for one of my rigs I usually get a couple bodies and a different set of wheels and tires. My savage has a set for onroad/packed dirt, loose dirt, and mud/sand/grass. I also have a basher body, shelf queen body, and a clean "runner" body that stays in good shape but does get used.

they haven't leaked yet so i might have the magic set. I don't believe you can mount LST shocks to rpm arms. I ran them on my old S25 but there is only one shock mount per side on the rpm arms.

You need to use a good Carnuba enriched wax to keep some of the dirt from sticking to it.
I no longer have the problem of picking lint off mine. :D
