Homemade Mead

Does anybody make mead or a home brew/hooch? If you do let's talk about it!
I started a small 1/2 gal batch about 2 weeks ago.

I had a friend that used to make his own. It was pretty good.

I tasted tested mine yesterday and it tasted like a sweet apple cider or something. I added a small slice of lemon to hopefully balance that out.
I’m excited to see this through.

Oddly enough, my friend died from alcohol abuse.

This is my second batch, both the first and second batches I couldn’t measure alcohol content because I didn’t have the test tube.
The first batch did give me a fuzzy feeling and tasted like a mikes hard something or other.
