Homemade lightsaber for my daughters class project!

Well, if nothing else, I'm making a mess🤣!

My daughter is in 2nd grade. She came home and said she needed to bring a "homemade" lightsaber to class for May 4th. The parents of the other students said they were just sticking flashlights in pool noodles... Thats not good enough for me, so here is what I got:

My outer case is a protective case for fluorescent bulbs. I then took a pool noodle and used a table saw for rough cut and razor for fine adjustments. I bought battery operated LED strip from Amazon that says it is for an RC car. I even got a birthday card recorder and recorded lightsaber sounds onto it.

This is a work in progress and I have no cricket clue what I am doing... but it's starting to come together!

Oh yeah! I put LED strips inside a pool noodle that I trimmed the outer diameter to fit. I put the voice recording inside to activate when the lights come on! The pool noodle foam helps diffuse the light, which is needed since the LED strip has gaps between the lights.
