I was reading a thread about glo plug holders and had what I think is a good idea of making a glow plug holder out of a golf ball. It allows you to hold up to 24 plugs and it looks neat when standing. All I did was drill 6 sets of 4 holes evenly spaced out along the ball. here it is, give me feedback on thoughts.

Looks cool but I would be to worried about getting junk down the plug or even damagaing the element. Nice Idea though.

That was my first thought as well. I believe that inside the ball is several layers of wound thin rubber bands. When they are drilled into they will continue to move around and come apart.

I would hate to see a plug at $5.00 have the filament busted off by a moving rubber band inside.

Keep thinking and come up with another idea. Don't stop till you get it right.

try making one that you can make into a key chain. saw some on the ofna website that you can easily make. probably gonna make one for myself:whistle:

At least the one that I used is almost like compacted/glued wood dust. Thanks for the feedback, anyone else that has something to say keep posting.

PS: I think we should make a thread of all the homemade parts and stuff for RC because I know I am not the only broke teenager out there, and there is just something fun about making stuff yourself.

IMO I would definitely try to keep the Plugs in their original package to keep them "FRESH"!!

I definately aggre but this would be for those plugs that mabey you changed to trouble shoot an engine problem or something like that but the plug is still good.

That still sounds too dangerous as the tip can actually still damage the element!

well the ones i put in have like rubber protectors on the filiment part. so when i take one out i put the rubber on the old one if it still aight and put it back in. plus the container fits right in a pocket perfectly.

someone mentioned a key chain type holder well in the 2 minutes that i read this entire thread i thought why not just get a skinny piece of PVC pipe thast about 2-3 inches longand make a hole for a key ring and drill holes along it for the glow plugs then when its time just unscrew the plug and put it on the car

I use the four-way wrench/ glow plug wrench that has holes for glow plugs in the center. I don't know how many glow plugs you guys go through, but I go through about 2 or 3 a year.

i like the idea of a homemade forum because it will
save me money and its kind of fun building it
