Went out for a good bash today with a few other guys on a new piece of poop land that some dude decided to build on. 2 x .25 savage, 3 x .21 savage and 1 x nitro mt2. All went well until 30 seconds had passed and i landed a big jump on the lid and punctured a hole in my tank, did not notice the whole at first cus i was using a new fuel (trinity 20%) so i thought the poop running was due to a lower nitro fuel so i proceeded to tune the engine to the fuel i was using only to find out that tuning is no good when fuel is leaking out of the tank through a hole big enough to drive a bus through, needless to say i was not a happy bunny.
Melted some plastic over the hole with a 12v soldering iron powered from the car battery and it cured the problem straight away, with a little bit of a re-tune.
Anyway, my point is, all you guys out there who have problems with poor performance and think its down to bad tuning or some other problem just remember it could be something simple like a crack in the tank or a punctured fuel line that you may not be able to see.
These toys are ACE when they run right, but it only takes a stupid little thing like a crack or an air leak or a loose screw or some other minor easily overlooked fault to totally f**k up you day.
Thats enough preeching for today.
