Okay...here's a poser for you.

I was re-reading some information that came with my "OFNA" Hyper 21 8 port, and noticed this companies name on the box and some of the material that came with the box.

This engine I am breaking in came with a set of photocopied break in directions from OFNA (not unusual to me...my Fantom had the same thing), but the rest is labeled with this HO BAO name.

Did I just get taken? Or is this some sub-contractor company of OFNA?

The reason I ask is simple...I want to make sure I've got a quality mill and not some cheap knock off. If this is an imitation, I'm gonna be having someone's ass at my LHS.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

SkyMaxx,

I have heard this company is the one that does OFNA's, and HPI engines along with a few others. So yes, I guess you could call them a sub-contractor.

So...my Ho Bao engine is really an OFNA engine? Okay. That sets my mind at ease, a little. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't getting taken for a ride by my LHS. Also, wanted to make sure I could get that pull start that mjime714 mentioned in one of his threads.

Thanks WoodiE.

No problem SkyMaxx... from what I can gather HO BAO makes all Hypers for Ofna. So the deal that mjime714 posted about shouldnt be a problem for you at all.

If I ever get me savage put back together I may take advantage of this offer too.

The Ofna 9.5 is really the Spped 9.5 manufactured by Hong Nor so it doesn't surprise me that another company is making that models engine. Does Ofna really even manufacture anything?
