i got a hitech hs-645Mg steering servo for my hpi mt and it bearly moves the wheel to side to side even with the steering servo off. it's very little. do i need to open it up and center the gear or what its new and never opened up again.

Hard to make out your problem.
It's brand new?
You tried it without the servo horn on?

You might have dead batteries.
If the batteries are new, change them anyway. (or recharge)

Don't open it if it's new.
Bring or send it back to the place that you bought it.

Or even send it to hightech.

Is the EPA adjustment off? Try adjusting that on your transmitter.

i did that too. how far to each side should it go, its going a little over a 1/8 of an inch. sorry about that ratzo.

I'm not trying to be an ass, but can you take the time to put in a period?
It would make it easier on the eyes.
Thanks.

its about a month old, used about 30 mins, vbgagnon both work its just that the servo only turns the wheel about an 1/8 inch. both ways. i tried ajusting the transmitter and then the turnbuckles and nothing helps. I'm going to take it to the lhs because i got to go there anyway so i will have them look at it.

Alright we need to clear some stuff up here.....What BEAR is moving your servo......OK bad joke.....are you saying the wheels don't turn, even when you remove the servo horn?
when you remove the servo can it turn more than when it's connected to your steering linkage? if so then VB called it...something is binding.....if not it's the servo....if it's equal travel both ways then it sounds like EPA adj.....those you will need to set up after it's connected to the Linkage......

also check your dual rate adjustment. even if your epa is set properly, if you have the dual rate reduced, the servo will not throw the set amount.

well I'm going to wait with this, because i got a whole new set up coming in tommorow and I'm not going to waste time with this. the reciever is a cheap futaba one but I'm sure it works fine, because it was working in my other car. i update this when i get it.

that's a nice lil upgrade, but you still never answered if the steering linkage was not making full travel w/o the servo hooked up to it......if it doesn't then you'll still have the same issue w/ your new radio setup......
you gettin the 3PM???
if so that's a nice radio, you'll have all those funky features you read everyone talkin about.....
