I have a Picco .26 on a Savage SS. The temp are running into the mid 300. Kind of scary. I tried fattening it up but it does not seem to be helping. Almost seems to be gaining temp. Any advise would greatly help.

did it just all of a sudden start doing that?? If so then i would venture to guess that you have an air leak somewhere. Back Plate, Carb, seal these with rvt sealant. Also check the head to see how torqued it is, even a quarter turn loose on these and they will reep havok. Replace your fuel lines, then try again and see what happens. watch your fuel line for bubbles. And try your hsn at factory settings, I think on the picco it is 4 turns out, and on the bottom end at 7 1/2 - 8 turns out. That's all i got for now. what plug are you using? try the O.S. A-5, perfect for this mill. And last thing, are you using 20%?

Yes 20 % nitro, Before I took it out I noticed that there was a crack in the fuel line. Snipped and fixed. I also noticed that the primer was not working to well. An air leak might be a problem will check. I will check others. I will start w/ replacing all fuel lines and a new tank. See what happens

sounds good, that's a great place to start. But you never answered if this just suddenly start happening or what? what are the exact circumstances? How about the temp outside and the weather.... I wanna know it all :hammer: !!!!!! So if you can go into better detail, that would be great. But if this temp problem just started all of a sudden then chances are that you do in fact have some sorta air leak. Oh I almost forgot to point out that if the air cleaner is dirty, that it will start to choke off the engine and she won't breathe, also a known cause of high ass temps out of the blue. Let me know how it goes.

I think the high temps have been an ongoing problem but not as high as Sunday. The outside temp was around 85 degrees. I will head to the shop table and let you know how it is going with the disection. Thanks for the help.
