hey,
Stock savage engine (its about to go man, its got a stripped screws in the backplate held together by a GLOB of red loctite. Anyways, just replaced pullstart, started running her and she was running ausome. I had some air bubbles problems for starting but managed to get her going for about 3/4 of a tank. ANyway, it was the best it EVER ran....i even managed to pull some wheelies when i had some droppofs. ANyway, after checking the temp guage, one check was 289, and the next was 301. I know its hotter than what they say to run it. But when its only at 260, its burbling and running like poop. Idles tuned correctly, its as low as possible without stalling, low speed is at factory. Is running that hot gonna blow the engine? ITs got blue thunder 20% fuel in it.

Drew:llama: <-------Sorrry, i just like the llama, makes me feel special:party:

It should be a max temp of 275F But it is gets to 290 it wont hurt it unless you run it for a long time at 290F about it "burbling" i dont know mine does that sometimes
i think it might be the low speed needle
Doug

Some people will say the temps should be around 220 to 260

my savage does the same thing, i i tune it to run at lower temps then it runs like poop and wont shift into second gear, mind you i leave about 100yds from the ocean in northern cali, when i tune it to run good and checks the temps it is usually about 300ºF, sometimes a little higher and sometimes a little lower, about 270-280 is the lowest i can get the temps to and still have it run smoothly. All my traxxas motors run the same way, LOL, I havea ported one that just screems at about 320º, but hey i only ported it to run strong and then die, LOL

I am also running 20% Blue Thunder fuel also.

make sure you cut holes into your truck body to allow more air flow over the engine. one in the windshield and one in the rear window in line with the engine, this should drop it a few degrees.

I got a Nova head for my WASP 26... BIG Difference compared to the stock one.. nice design too!!!! they have one for the 21bb and S25.. good investment.. oh yeah don't use that Blue thunder.. i did for a while but switch to either Monster trinity or Platinum trinity.. big difference.. to me blue thunder is like 83 octance on cars

I have to second the nova head, it dropped the temps 35deg on my stock .21 savage, very nice head.

You might want to change out your fuel line. You mention problems with air bubbles. This usually means and air leak in the lines. Good luck.

i have the crazy nut racing head for my XTM 24.7. it dropped my heat down so much, with the tiny head that comes on the 24.7 i was running around 300 and then i put the crazy nut head on and got 250
