after my sav has been running a while it starts to idle really high, however, when i take off my air filter, theres only a mm or so of clearance, so it should be idleing really low, or not at all. only thing i can think of is its running to rich?

What you are describing is normal and is actually caused by a lean condition. The fuel system tends to run towards the lean side as the tank gets closer to empty. To counter this, tune the engine with only a half tank of fuel in the tank. This will make it run slightly rich when the tank is full, just right when the tank is half full, and slightly lean when the tank gets towards empty.

This differs from the current set up where you tune on a full tank and get it just right for a full tank. From that point on the tank starts to empty and you get an increasingly lean condition as the tank gets closer to empty.
