ok here is the story i just traded a guy my four wheeler for three t-maxx two with a .15 and one with a 2.5 I'm a little confused on the tranny whether the are two speed , one speed , reverse just gettin back into the rc stuff so I'm clueless about tranny deal the other componits I'm ok with ne help

Welcome to RCNT!!!!!! if you post your question in the Traxxas Maxx section you will get help a lot faster, but I believe all 3 of those rigs have a 2 speed tranny with reverse unless they had the forward only conversion done to them, then it would just be 2 speeds with no reverse.

i just found out one is a sportmaxx two of the trannys have a third servo i believe the one truck has a single speed the other two two speed but i only have a two channel radio do they shift on there own from first to second and if i spin the spur gear should the truck try to roll forward or should it just spin

Moved to tmaxx section...

The Maxx's tranny is a 2 speed with reverse on the third channel. If you spin the spur gear (gear on tranny) it will just spin if it has reverse in it. It has a series of clutches in the transmission that will engage when the reach X amount of RPM's. Thats how it will disengage to move from forward to reverse and when the RPM's get high enough, the Tranny will shift into second gear automatically. The third servo you have moves a fork inside the transmission from forward to reverse and visa versa. You have a TQ-3 radio for the two T-Maxx's and a TQ-2 for the S-Maxx. With out the third channel you wont be able to shift from forward to reverse. Hope this helps.
