hex wheel hub problems

my hex wheel hubs are spinning on the inside of my rims but they are stripping the inside of the rims. should i buy new hubs or rims?
 
make sure your rim are on tight before running. I put some thread lock after making sure my are tight.
 
Welcome to the typical savage wheel problem. The savage wheels are notorious for stripping. From what I hear from other people, basically any other wheel is better. I am still running the factory rims, luckily I have only stripped one so far after 2-3 gallons.
 
If your looking to upgrade the wheels I would recommend these:

I'm using RPM wheels with my stock SS hexes and they work fine. You just have to remember to tighten those wheel nuts down after every tank. If you don't have the $$ for new wheels, you can buy aftermarket hexes by GPM, Hot Bodies, etc, all of which I heard work better than the stock hexes. If you buy larger wheels like those Dozers you have to worry about steering issues, IE you have to run a 6V hump pack, possibly a stronger steering servo. Not to mention that it is a little more stress on the drivetrain, which goes into gearing changes, etc.....

i just started using ofna rims made for dominator with 17mm adapters they are strong its the same the buggys use and the rims are like 19.00 set of 4

Savage has the ext. Chassis plates, lower & upper alloy arms and the Hardcore handle. Going to upgrade the engine to a wasp .26

The wheel nuts use nylon threads. Maybe I am wrong but I do not think that thread lock will help with these nuts.
 
They are nylock nuts. The first portion of the threads within the nut are metal. The last one or two threads are nylon. So, thread locker would work and has worked just fine. Why? The nylon tends to get worn out after a few times of changing out or removing the wheels.
 
I have to make the pictures smaller so I can post them in the gallery.

Skymaxx is right the nylon threads on the nuts do wear out after taking the wheels off so many times. The thread lock has been the best I have use to keep the nuts from getting loose.
