Went to the track today , nice and sunny here today. Had a great time BUT I went through the comp gear. I put in the hardened alum diff gear and now i chewed up the the comp gear. Now what? I dont think they make that in alum so I guess i will have to put plastic back in. Was i too tight on the slipper? It seemed like i had it set up pretty good! Thanks

Look at this exploded view.

I'm assuming part #A-2927 is what stripped.

Either way, did you inspect all the bearrings and spacers before you put it back together? There are 7 total. Also, make sure you are not missing any spacers.

Lastly, If everything inside was/is fine surrounding the gears, then yes, you may have been set too tight. When you put metal on plastic you will have to have some give somewhere. Also, did you use any grease on the gears as well as the thrustbearrings both in the diff and on the diff shaft?

yup, it was the compound gear smooth as glass, got a couple on order should i be lubing the diff gear and compound gear themselves heavy or light? I am lubing the diff gear inside and the thrust bearings just as per manual.

This truck rocks when it is running, please tell me once i get the feel of adjusting the slipper things will break less alot less. I practiced for ten laps before it gave out, couldn't even run my class. BUT Team Losi will Prevail!!!!
Any other suggestions Greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Well of all the things, the two maintenance items on a XXX are the slipper pads and the diff itself. I would check with the guys at your track and see what is working for them. I have not needed to drop in my RRP diff yet, but, if they will destroy the compund gear like that, I might not want to. I havent seen a metal compund gear yet. Have you? If so, link?

Yes, light grease on both.

There is a chance your slipper was too tight and possibly your diff. Its hard to initially find that perfect balance, but when you do, look out!

Hey EDDY! Do you have anything to add on this one? I know you have had to address this before on yours.
