ok jus went outside to fire the truck up to show my buddy and when i try to start it theres a pingingish like sound, when i roll it backwards the little gear on the motor or the big one on the trans is where the sounds comin from? what could this be? why would it do this it ran perfectly fine yesterday i got it to start jus now but it like instantly sounded like crap and accelerated then on its own stalled out? someone please help

ok jus checked it again real fast, its more like a grind sound! what could be wrong

ok it also pulls forward when trying to crank over, before this happened it would sit as if in nuetral when starting now it wants to pull forward when i crank it over with the ez star

Yep.

Sounds like your clutch spring broke.

can someone tell me how to or direct me to a write up on how to check this part? and being a newb on a scale 1-5 what difficulty will this project be for someone whos never touched these things before?

and yesterday everfything was perfectly fine i go to start it today and this is what was happening what would cause this to happen when the truck has not been touched?

ok figured it out on my own! and yep it was the spring! now instead of gettin a new spring and puttin it all back together i wanna do the 3 clutch light flywheel upgrade! at only around 15 bucks it seems to be worth it!

but how do i get the flywheel nut off? that thing is tight as hell and I'm sure I'm not possed to be turnin the engine backwards though i did many times already but how do i get this thing off?

and what are the benefits of the 3-piece clutch? I'm guessin I'm goin with integy as it seems there clutches rate to be good but will this help transfer torque or somethin like that or jus help from having this problem with the pring again?

well i got clever and fixed the spring by bending a coil 90 degrees and re hooked them! at first to put it on the clutch shoes i tried to pull it around then hook them, yeah that doesn't work hardly at all, so i hooked the spring to gether and then jus rolled it around til it "popped" on the shoes, I'm sure this made i a smidge tighter but should i be ok? i tried to crank it over to make sure it didnt snap after re assembly but can't start it up cause its late and my neighbors would hate me so should i be ight ?
