well were do i start, i was at a local track and my maxx was running great. BUT after a quick run i came back in and i noiced the slipper gear was not moving at idle. then i was checking it out and when i move the gear (truck is off) is move fine for about 3/4 of a turn and then it feels like it gets comprestion for the rest of the 1/4 of the way. and when i roll the truck around with it off it sounds like gears are grinding. but it seems to me the truck is running ok. having motor trouble but i think i popped the motor. any hints. thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!:flaming:

but i guess i have to learn sometime. and the track me a my buddy have been going to is potbellys. but when i had this probelm i went to hooby hut in pa. (bad ass track) :ahh:

Unless your idle is particularly high (as in high enough to engage the clutch bell) then the spur gear will not necessarily move. The grinding sound could be bad or it could just be the normal sound that gears make when they are working against each other. If the gears were truly grinding, you would feel resistance to motion when you tried to roll it.
So, gun the engine and see if the spur gear moves. If it does and the truck runs fine, then you should be okay. If under power/rpms, the spur does not move then you may have fried your clutch. If under power/rpms, the spur does move but not enough to engage the tranny...add more gas and then see if the truck moves. If no movement from the tranny, then you may have something wrong internal to the tranny...but we'll cross that bridge when you confirm a problem exists.
