i just got back into my rc/car i got a rc10gt about 4 years old and i put brand new batteries in and nothing worked i was like wtf there throttle or the steering doesn't work.but last time i drove it was like 4 months ago.please help trying to get running by next weekend.

First, check to see that the batteries are fresh. Then make sure they're in the holder the proper way. If that all looks good, then trace the wiring. Make sure there are no breaks in the wires. Turn the transmitter on. Plug the battery pack directly into the BATT slot on your receiver. This bypasses the switch. If everything comes on, then you're ok. But you probably need a new switch. If nothing happens, then there are bigger issues to deal with. So let's start with those simple things and go from there.
 
make sure your terminals arent corroded. check for loose wires also. and double check to make sure the batts you put in are good (hey never know) unhook everything and see if the rx will turn on. then go from there one peice at a time.
