Yes the silver coin like object is a button. Some engines have a "Turbo" Button as well. Before you think Knight Rider its nothing fof the sort. It's similar to the standard button but it allows the use of a Turbo Plug. Which by the way are not that cheap.

Its called a Head Button or sometimes a Under Head.

I think he may be talking about the Head shims... Not all heads are 2 piece, with removable buttons.. Is this what your looking for?
