ok everyone, thanks ahead of time for opinions and advice. i just purchased what i believe to be a first gen tmaxx with a new 2.5 motor. the previous owner could not figure out how to tune the new motor so he sold it to me. i got the motor tuned. however, i have to give it considerable throttle to get the tranny to engage and then it barely moves. when i let off the throttle it stalls the motor. anyone run into this before? i really dont know the trucks history so I'm kinda lost. also it only has a 2 channel radio so the reverse servo is inop. help please.

Check the slipper but it sounds as it may be too rich on the HSN. Check and let us know

do yourself a favor and buy the 10 dollar FOC (forward only conversion) kit.....it will eliminate the reverse module and all the weight associated w/ it....and the For / Rev clutch setup which may also be part of your problem w/ the tranny engaging.......careful though the T-maxx can (and will be) a money pit.....

I'd have to put a guess on the idle stop screw (located just under the air intake). Give it no more than 1/4 of a turn at a time. You want the truck to idle just before the driveline starts to jerk.
