I've tried to tap on the fly wheel with a rubber hamer. tried to heat it in the oven @ 300 and tap it off and even just tried to use a small gear puller. can anyone else help with any ideals.

I wrapped the blade of a putty knife with electrical tape then gently pried the flywheel loose on my 2.5 mill with it. Got to be real careful and work it all around between the flywheel and motor with a twisting motion on the knife.

I am surprised the gear puller did not work.

thanks guys i was able to ply it off with a large screwdriver but i messed up teeth trying to remove it earlier.do i need to replace it or can i still reuse it.

As long as you didnt BEND the flywheel it should be perfectly fine. If you are talking about the marring on the outside edge, its ok.

A battery terminal puller should have done the trick for you.

I picked up one at the local auto parts store for around 3 dollars.
