Anybody have any recommendations re: nitro
buggy? The hobby shop guy was trying to talk me into an Ofna Ultra Comp. I want to get the best for my money. You guys already have buggies so you must have some opinions. I do want to bash but there is a track here in town that I may want to race. Any suggestions out there? I'm leary when hobby shop dudes suggest cause you don't know if they're just trying to get rid of stock or they really are trying to help.

What are you looking to spend? A few that I would recommend would be the Ofna Jammin buggy, and the Ofna Hyper series of buggies. Then again it all depends on your funds.

the ofna ultra is bottom of the barrel. i have the Mayhem and it rocks the mbx 5 is also another killer buggy, and if you want to spend a little more then go with the xray xb8.

Wow!

That would be close to 700.00 + tax (15%). Wow.
Can't afford that. I'll have to look for the best I can get for my 600 Canadian. Don't you just love the Canadian tax system??

15% tax!?!?!?!? Yipes!!! Hope you got out of it perfect teeth and live to be a hundred and twenty five for the price of that socialized medicine system you got there! :jk:

I think for you rbudget the OFNA Hyper 7 RTR might be your best bet. Many upgrades incase you decide you want to get competitive and race.

I'll have to agree with revo on that one. The hyper line is strong and race worthy out of the box. I'd go with that.

Well, our health system....I don't pay for drugs (prescription) and we don't pay for surgeries at all. Everything is free, LOL.
Thanks for the advice guys, I'll be driving off to the LHS asap. to see what they have.

GS Storm would be another decent buggy in the price range. Or you can wait another week and see what Kyosho releases, seems they put out a new model every couple weeks!

Thanks guys for the help. I'm going to take your advice and look into the Hyper & and the GS Storm. I'm so glad I checked with you guys first before buying. A lot of money so I want to make the best choice, that's why I checked first. Again, thanks.

I have the Ultra LX Comp as my first one...it's okay, just a PITA to break-in! But I'd definatly recommend the Hyper 7 or 9.5 .

Thanks SpitFire. I'll be out pricing those this weekend.
Thanks so much.

who's payin 550 for a mayhem, sheesh.

owned both a hyper and a storm pro. advantage hyper (i say that and i'm a GS junkie-the storm RTR is junk, pro version is nice, but old and outta ur range)

go hyper, most shops carry ofna, easy to get parts if needed, easy to work on and quick.

I'll be at one of the three LHS's to check the hyper out. Thanks ultegraST1.

This is so true. So, I think I'll save some more cash and get something a little better than the Ultra LX Comp. Mind you, isn't the Ultra LX Comp come out again with some changes?

Its a decent entry level ride but like the others have said save your money and go with one of the other Ofna rides, IMO go with either the PCR Pro or Hyper PBS these two are very well built and the parts availibilty is great for either one of those rides, Good luck with your decision!

Oh...don't worry. I'm taking everyone's advice. Thanks for the help itsme1.
