help with .21bb

can someone tell my why it is so hard to start. i have the roto start system and it still hard to start. Once i get it start it idles great and will stay running it runs out of gas. I'm still pretty new at this and not sure what else to try.

Is the engine broken in yet? Or are you in the process of breaking it in?

its broken in i have run almost a gallon through it

Set all your needles to the stock position and lean a 1/16th of a turn at a time. Also on my Hyper 21 it took about a full gallon of fuel for that thing to break in but when it did the thing ran like a bat out of hell.

Odds are the break in process all but killed your glo-plug, or your batteries in the glo-igntior you are using are too weak. Have you checked either one?

To check the glo-plug, remove it from the engine. Plug it into your glo-ignitor. You should see the coil start to glo a nice hot yellow to white color. If not, then check your batteries. If you know they are brand new, then get a new glo-plug as yours is most likely dead.

Great advice for tuning the engine, EP. BUT he has stated that his issue is with getting it started. Once started, the engine stays running.

have tried changing glow plugs and i have two different ignitors and they both work great on my menace 21

Hmmm...are you certain that you have fuel flowing to the engine prior to start? As in have you primed it properly?

Do you use after run oil? Have you put in any the engine recently?

What glo-plug are you using on the 21BB? Standard or Long plugs?
