I really need help tuning this thing. I have done everything that I am suppose to. I tuned it So it is really snappy right off the line and tops out good, and a good stream of blue smoke. But the bad thing is after running it through about a tank or so its running 340-350F. And I am using a Radio Shack infared thermometer. Anything I can do!!! It was about 75F outside today. If anyone can tell me what theres is at that would be great. Tell me what you have your lsn and hsn set at from the stock settings..

Try richening it up. If she consistantly runs that hot you're just burning her up. You have her too lean. PERIOD! Yes she runs like a raped ape but you're going to burn up your engine.

had mine running the same way, ran fast as hell, but I learned my lesson, I just today got the first tank threw after the rebuild.

If all else fails, wrap a slice of bacon around the fins. At least when it finally goes you'll have a tasty snack.

But I'd richen it up till it's idling around 200-230 and after WOT no more than 270-280. Any more and you might as well cook a snack along with you engine.

If you have the book for the engine, get the needle setting from there, and always err on the side of caution. Richen up the HSN till it almost doesn't run, then tune the LSN and start leaning the HSN again, then back to the LSN, etc till it's running in the above stated heat ranges. If you need to lean it more to get perfomance, your mill is about toast, get a hyper or a picco 26. Best of luck dude.

Whitt....

MY savage ran like that but my temp got to 380 but that only happened once. So I took it in the shop and the guy tuned my savage and it ran in the 220 to 245 that was two three weeks ago. So now I'm taking it in again to get the temp down to 215 to 235 the shop is larry's proformence r/c's and for help call 997-4840 and they will help you out .

If you burn Byrons, or anything else with a boatload of castor oil, it'll only make you regular. As for the dirt, well, it's an acquired taste.
