for thanksgiving i brought the revo to my aunt and uncles farm to have some fun. well, i got a ramp and was jumpin it. suprisingly, i got the damn thing to do a backflip on my first attempt. but my 2nd attempt wasn't that great. it landed upside down, and pretty hard.

well, i flipped it back over, and it ran fine, no big deal. about 10 mins later (no more jumping) the engine just died. refused to start back up, and there was fuel goin to the engine, all the lines were connected, the glowplug was fine. well, i get home to find the engine mount (the part on the undercarriage) broke into 4 peices.

I'm having a problem removing a section of the mount. luckly, i had an extra chassis that had a mount on it, so I'm clear. i just need to get the old one off and then see if there is anything wrong with the engine.

can someone help me? ill try to post up pix asap

Wow are you running that thing really lean or is that head faded really light? I have seen many revo's and the heads are only like this when the temps are super hot. I would look into getting a stock mount for now unless you plan on upgrading the mill.

the head is faded..i guess...it runs in the ranges of 250-300...sometimes more. and i can't get the temp down without loosing performance. i give it WOT and it just boggs down sooo much.

as for the mounts, i have new mounts, they are next to the broken ones.

still need help on geting tha one piece out...

Well I can't help you out on the mount but post another thread about your tuning issues and I will be more than happy to help you. That way if anyone has a similar problem then we aren't re addressing the same thing again.

ok, scratch the mount, i just had to take off thew hole back end.

problem solved...now, i just need to get it running again!

Next time you take your engine apart, You should really clean it as I can see you didn't cover the carb or clean around and get the dirt off the block and around the carb.

Why is your piston scratched at the top?

Be sure to clean your engine nextime as any debris in your engine is enough potential to damage and reduce the compression of your engine.

The top of your cylinder looks to be a little cooked.

Good luck, she looks pretty cooked to me.... Excuse some of us, seeing all that dirt on an open engine, & Top-O-Piston artwork, rubs some veteran R/C'ers the wrong way... You might want to read up on some tuning guides to prevent those high temps....

well, i just gave up on that engine and ordered an OS .18 TM (any tips on when i get it?)

this if my first nitro RC, and no matter what i did to it, it wouldnt stop overheating.

i even took it to the LSH and he said he can't figure it out either. how do i clean the engine and what do you guys mean by cooked???

think it will ever run again?

Well before you do anything drastice like taking your mill apart. You really should ask here. I know of a few times where dirt gets in the HSN and causes a false setting that leans your engine out. With your next mill seal your backplate and carb prior.and let cure for 24 hours. Break in is crucial so take your time.

well, the new mill is dropin for the revo. i was gunna hook the EZ start back up since i dont really have any problems with it (that i know of). I'm gunna take the truck to my hobby shop 1 last time and get their opponion on what i need to do to get the 2.5r running again. i kinda just wanna take a hammer to it. or if it gets workin again, ima prolly sell it "as is" on ebay.

with this new engine i just ordered, what should i do about the exhaust? isnt it gunna be restrictive with the more power?

um, that engine is done............ This has been said but I feel the need to re-iterate it. The head is discolored do to extreme heat. The top of the piston is actually scratched. You should always clean an engine before you disassemble it. If it wasn't dead before it will be now do to all the dirt you let get inside.

Those sratches on the piston is from dirt? ... I thought it was from a screw driver.

yeah, a flathead...wanted to see how thick it was. but if its cooked then i guess theres nothing i can do. anyone want it?

any suggestions for the new engine????

the dead engine, sure, its free...just pay for the SH. as for the new one, its OS .18

Oh yeah thats right you already ordered the new one, I was giving sugestions, but forgot you said you ordered it. Good choice heard some good things about that OS.
