Anyone out there can tell me how to setup a thunder tiger GP-15BX(p) engine.

I just got the car and have no instructions for the engine.
the car needed a good clean and overhall which i've done but the engine seems to be all out.

have checked the glow starter and plug, fuel lines etc. seems to be a setup issue.

thanks.

yeh i know what hes on about. mine seems too rich. got lots of fuel in the pot when i checked.

dried it out turned the mixture right down tried again still no joy.
tried turning the mixture up from closed while pulling and still no.
running out of options.

:hammer:

I searched the hell out of the INTERNET and couldn't find the factory settings.

To be safe, Set the HSN (The top needle) 4 complete turns out, and the LSN (Adjustment on the side of the carb.) Flush with the case. You will also need to check the idle screw. It is also located on top of the carb. (smaller of the two) It should be adjusted to give you about 1/16th inch of gap.

I will also refer you to this article.

Read it! some of the issues will not apply to your RC but much of it will.

have u checked the 4 things? plug hot? fuel going to carb? carb not clogged? compression okay? if all are okay - then it HAS to be fuel air mixture. a starter box would really help, if u have access to one. if not, and u think its flooding the mill, just lean it out alot - once it gets running, then u can tune it back down. most of the time, over rich starting problems are attributed to the LSN, not the HSN. finally - have u checked the idle set screw? make sure the carb is open about 1mm. any less will starve the mill, and it wont start.

You know he is from England right? They don't have the quarter pounder! Translation 1-1.5mm opening in the carb with the brake fully on

i knew that! see! do i win a prize??? lol.

thanks
will keep on checking. trying
the carb only seems to have two ajustments
one screw-- idle stop point I've set this to about 1-1.5 mm
the other is a big tall hand turn screw on the left of the carb about 3/4 to 1 inch tall. clicks as you turn it.
is this just a single mixture ajustment?
should i have two on this motor?

alot of entry level engines will only have the big screw (the high speed needle) and the low speed needle has been permently set at the factory.

I think we have a rotarty carb here and we all were thinking it's a slide.
