Hi All,

I have tmaxx 2.5 the problem i have with it is i cannot get it to start until half the carburator is open and i keep the ez running on it for about a min, and thats if I'm lucky over the past few days i have spent more time starting than actually playing with it.

I have 3 ez start batteries which end up dead within the hour!

I recently took the engine apart for a clean and i broke the carburator so i bought a new one a fitted it with new seals.

I have set all the needels to factory setting which doesn't make a difference

I know the problem is with the tuning but where? and what?

Another problem to add!

was playing with it and it was running fine i think and then it slowed down the engine would rev up but the thing would crawl and now the engine revs up but it doesn't move. i can see the spur gear spining but it isnt going anywhere. what the problem here?

It has a robinson racing gearbox which was fitted to the car when i got it by the previous owner.

Just before all the above problems i used to have another problem which was the truck would run fine for about 15mins and the engine wouldnt be too hot and the thing used to slow down similar thing to what it's doing today. Engine revs up but the truck wouldnt move.

Guys i know theres alot but your help will be much appreciated

Thanks

It sounds like you need to totally need to remove the engine and check the whole mill for air leaks...I know for a fact that the engines leak alot of air at the carb inlet banjo and are hard to seal correctly by tightening with enough torque without stripping the carb inlet hole out...I like to make it just tight enough and then seal it with medium or thick tire glue...I also seal the carb mount joint, slider rubber boot and carb pinch bolt at the head plus the nut....Theres o-rings at the carb needles that get dried up real quick and start to leak air. They should be changed after each gallon burnt if its used regularly and every 6 months to a year if not used alot...Its best to put a little anti-seize lube on the o-ring before re-installing...After you power tune the engine its best to stick a rubber vaccuum block-off cap on the HSN boss to totally seal it from leaking when engine is at its highest demand and the fastest damage can take place..

After that is all sealed up I check the rest of the places air could leak by doing an airleak test using the bubbled soap with a brush and some pressure method.Theres a vid on u-tube that explains it the best...Reinstall the engine with carb at 2 turns out on the LSN and 4 turns out on the HSN and put a brand new OS8 glowplug in the head, fresh fuel in the tank and for the first 5-6 seconds of cranking you want to prime the engine by plugging up the exhaust port so the pressure can pressurize the fueltank and feed the fuel towards the carb...Once the fuel reaches the carb remove your finger and it should fire right up.Make sure the battery in the ez-starter wand is atleast 2000mah...2500mah is best......Good Luck..
