hey all

I'm new to the r/c scene and i had brought for me a acme nitro condor plus, but i can't seem to get it running right, the first problem we had when it was given to much revs it would just go into a kind of neutral. it was fine if you built up the revs slowly unitl a certain speed then would do the same. orginally thought that iw was selecting the second gear.

but now when you start the engine it has to be off the floor as the wheels turn fairly quickly but when throttle is applied it doesn't go anywhere then when either the brake is hit or it engages gear the car just cuts out!!

i wounder if anyone can help me plz as i have no experience to find the problem myself :)

wow thats a lot of problems.. ill see if i can help. my first gut instinct says check the clutch. if its messes up the motor will spin and the tires wont.
also you said you have to start it off the ground, this leade me to believe your clutch has went from slipping to stuck and not doing its clutching duty. how high is it revving when you start it? check your clutch and reset your carb back to factory settings, also make sure your idle is set correctly and your throtle linkage is set to close all the way at idle settings. the idle set screw will hold the carb open.

then get back to us.

right i have two sets of clutch shoes one thats in the engine and one thats with the first and second gear.

the one with the gears i have meddled with as it says in the manual that sometimes it doesn't shift into second then keep turning the setpoint screw a 1/4 of a turn but think that has added to the problem as it was running with miedium revs until it would just stay in a neautral and rev. but now it run it just stalls when the gears engage.

the carb i have not messed with to be honest as the idle speed etc was running fine when i was trying to run it in. say we hit the problems when we tryied to give it more revs for the break in procedure.

thanks again il check it tomoro after work and see how it goes

if anyone has anymore ideas plz let me know I've had to for nearly three weeks and i can't use the bloody thing

well first of all..you have a piece of poop car. GET RID OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that's a helpful thought..lol
I assume this is a road car......
do you know what engine is in it?
can you take pics of the mill if it's an off brand? specifically the Carb so we can point out what you need to adjust there.....also do you have factory settings for the 2-speed clutch?? if so reset that first.....you probably needed to tune the engine first before messsing w/ the 2 speed.......the car cutting out when you apply the brakes sounds like the Idle stop screw needs to be turned in a lil as well.....if you have factory settings on all the carb screws too reset them......if you aren't sure what tehy do when you screw w/ them DON'T!!!!.....reset it back to factory and tell us what it does then...at least it will be a good base point to start trouble shooting from.....

the carb itself etc hasnt been touched apart from leaning it up abit on the juice other than that the idle speed ect hasnt been moved. yea it may be a peice of poop to some but its my first car and will prob end up wrecking it anyway that if i ever get it running

oh its a buggy the engine is a team infinity 18
