this is frustrating me as i can see I'm getting so close, I'm thinking different shock oil might help?

it WANTS to climb that step but no go, could it be the tires? maybe mud slingers arent the bestest for smooth concrete?

As much as I love my Wraith, they just aren't the best at all out climbing/crawling. They're kind of a jack of all trades, master of none.

What's your axle setup? Overdrive/Underdrive? I bet a comp rig would walk right up that.

It almost looks like it's getting caught on the chassis before the back tires make contact with the riser, and then it's pulling it up and they don't grab the concrete. Maybe adjust the linkages, or bigger tires if you can?

A little bump of the throttle would have got you over the top. :thumbs-up: Sometimes working those front tires back and forth will also get you that extra little bit of grip you need.

Nice looking truck!!

A piece of cheater 2x4 or even a few rocks on the lower step would help the truck out a lot.

The break over point where the front axle will drop and the wheels will bite again is a ways off.

It reminds me of watching Optics out on the rocks or comp courses. They just don't have the geometry and they spend a lot of time on their belly/links.

I haven't messed wiht any buggies. But crawling is my jam.
Looks like that's set up more as a rock bouncer?
Most crawlers I have seen that can make that climb like that have crazy clearance, especially in the rear. Hard to tell from that angle but it looks like the rear links could be hitting the step. Maybe not.
But that front end needs to be able to get a little more weight down on top of the step to get more bite.

Maybe I am completely wrong, too, LOL.

I don't currently have any builds that are capable of that as it really isn't my thing, I like more of a scale look than extreme performance.

@Tallbump

I think you're on the right track, I could see the same thing. Look at the clearance in this comp truck;

You can also see how low and forward every is.

I told him something similar in the YouTube comments. With the current WB and skid, more throttle is the only hope! lol

So his question besides throttling out.
What could be done?

Fab some high clearance link?
Rotate the axle so the drive shaft gets some clearance?

So theoretically, if we get it closer does that get it up and over? 🤔
Personally, I would just stop driving it on stairs. :p

Stretching the rear with high-clearance links would probably be the ticket. It needs to teeter-totter such a small amount to get the right amount of contact on those tires.

Unlocking articulation with some longer shocks would help too.

I said something similar in my first post but decided to edit my comment.

Well he has a game plan if he wants to move forward. 🙂
