The two screws are what you adjust, they control the spring tension, which in turn controls your shift point. The more you tighten the screws the later you shift, the more you losten the earlier you shift.. MAKE SURE YOU TIGHTEN OR LOSEN THE SCREWS THE SAME AMOUNT.

so i have to set BOTH screws to have the same tightness?? i will try it tomorrow. thanks for the advice man

Hold on a second. What kind of car do you have? Not all 2 speeds are the same. My reflex has 2 outer screws I have to adjust to change the shift points. My MTX only has one to adjust. The other is just a set screw. Same with the HPI's. If you have the latter type 2 speed and you adjust both screws, you're gonna end up having to tear down the 2 speed tranny to fix what you just messed up.

Mugen is right Only one screw is the adjust if it's an HPI 2 speed.
go to this link http://www.hpiracing.com/index2.htm choose option parts then choose nitro option parts. there you will find the instructions for the rtr3 2 speed assembly. Hammer down m8 :coffee:

yup.... my bad i didnt even ask what you got i just assumed and we know what that does.

no dude only adjust one set skrew!one hold the clutch assembly to the 2 speed shaft! and if you loosen that one you have to take the hole 2 speed apart, where that set skrew locks down on the shaft is flat, it has to be on the flat spot or it will slip and come loose again, good luck hitting the flat spot with the tranny complete!YA I TRIED IT A TIME OR 10! here is how you adjust you tranny, from the back of the car the hole to the right is your adjustment skrew turn down for early shift ,loosen for later shift!

You got it backwards. Screw in for later shift, loosen for earlier shift.
