Help me, Run in my Picco .26

Hi,

Just got my Picco .26 3 days ago, and last night i've been playing with it (worked fine) but this morning i start (After hard work pulling the starter) and whenever a put some throttle to it it sometimes stops, why? Also i broke my pull start :help: :help: , can they be fixed? How? Any more tips? I can't start the engine now to let the engine run dry, u think it will be ok for a day before i take to LHS to fix pull start? :help: :help:

Spray some ARO down the carb throat and through the glow plug hole, work it in with a few manual turns of the flywheel.

What will spraying that do? ALso when pull start is fixed will it be weak, stronger or same?

It will be fine for about a week or two with fuel left in it. The pull starter can be fixed but you may end up having to order the parts needed. That depends on what the LHS stocks. If you only tore the rope, it may be able to be fixed but generally you'll need to replace some things.
 
i have been using the same pull starter for my xtm 24.7 for about 2 months now. it has broken about 4 times but i can go and fix it right back up and be going in less than 15 mins. they are easy to fix. but they do get a little weaker each time u fix them.

Larry, I don't think I'd let an engine sit two weeks without running some ARO through it. Oxidation waits for no man. Methanol attracts moisture which will promote rust on polished surfaces of an engine. Crankshaft, bearings and wrist pin are all subject.

If you live in a dry environment like Texas or Arizona with near zero humidity you might be able to be more lax about it.

I wouldn't take any chances and it only takes a minute to do.

I'll elaborate further and recommend that your can of nitro fuel be kept where the temperature remains relatively constant. Not on a cold basement floor. Not in the trunk of your car. And keep it tightly capped.

yes, that was the first thing that i did, i dropped some ARO in my carb and pulled the starter a few times. it has been sitting for about 1-1/2 weeks. but i should be running it here by the end of the week.

I'm not going to argue the point. ARO will surely not hurt anything and it can be put in after each day of use. I, personally, don't bother unless it is going to sit for extended periods of time. I store my stuff inside and humidity is not a problem. I have yet to have any problems from coorosion and am actually still running two engines that are at least 5 years old.
 
thats kool, i personally run the poop out of my engines so they dont last too long. i think that they longest running engine that i have had was about 1 year.

Yo, thanks for the help, Mines only going to sit their for about 12 hours till it goes to get pull start fixed so it'll be ok, Also whats ARO stand for? Here in Australia we might have somethin differnet? Also my LHS said if it can't be fixed u can buy a new Pull Start or get one that u dont pull (Rotostart or somethin like that for $25 more) what should i do?

My LHS said he has to order in a new Pull Start :opps: :shrug: , i have 2 options, an electric start (dont need to pull start) or a pull start? What u think?
