I need some advice on upgrading my savage .25 radio, i bought this truck used and it came with a traxxas tq am radio. I want to buy a good 2.4 ghz radio so i've been reading reviews, I like the Futaba 3pl, seems to be priced right, but what about Tactic, Hi-Tec, are they just as good, I've allways used the stock radios before, but a friend once told me one of the most important upgrades is a good radio? I sure could use some advice here as i am feeling confused.

I have never owned any really expensive 2.4ghz radio, so I couldn't give you an opinion on one. BUT I can give you an opinion on an inexpensive one :D I currently use a flysky gt3b radio, and its IMO one of the best of had my hands on and is only $40 on hobbypartz, and with ten model memory, dual rate, end point adjustment , fail safe and lcd display, its well worth the price. And I use it for my savage, rustler, torment. And no complaints with it either.

And yes upgrading your radio is one of the most important upgrades, no interference, no more crystals, and no more chasing after a run away.

thanks, i think i'll go with the Futaba 3pl, i've read good reviews and the price is right. In the past whatever radio came with my truck was fine, but now i live beside a 23 mile lake. plus there is a R/c airfield and a couple of small other airfields not that far from here. I figure " THE BEAST" it's what my wife calls my Savage .25 project truck, is worthy of a good radio. thing is, i could have bought a new savage 5.9 xl for what i've put in this truck, but I wanted to do it the way i wanted it. anyway, i'll post pics on here when it's done. thanks mackdaddy
