hello again! you guys have all been wonderfully helpful and patient with me in the past, and i yet again need help!
i am still having trouble with my carburetor coming loose and wiggling and leaking air! i have tried the ultra copper, and i have gone as far as to JB weld the darn thing after the copper alone wouldnt do it! i guess there is no way for you guys to know what else might be wrong with it from the way it sounds and everything. i think i am just totally lost, and either need to buy a different brand engine, or an entire new truck so i can actually get some run time! does anyone make a carb with a metal barrel or throat. i'm just not sold on the plastic!
i've also got a cracked crankcase...so i think that i may be just getting a new engine...and if it weren't for summer being so close, i would just save a get a new truck!
would the exhaust being messed up give me problems in general? i took it all apart one time, and there is no cone in the pipe at all. my latest problem along with the carb is that when i try to start it, it just sounds lifeless, or like you've plugged the stinger. i have not yet had time to pull that and check it, but could i be correct in that the carb being so loose, and so leaky, and it may not even be getting enough pull to get fuel? sorry this is sorry incoherant, but i am extremely frustrated and nearly completly broke because of this thing!

forget the "Salvage"...HELP ME!:drink:

if the crankcase is cracked, then the carb is the least of you're problems.
There is no surefire way to permanently or temporarily repair a crankcase.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad new's

Besides, look at it this way; it's the perfect opportunity to drop in that STS 30. I think they go for around $130 on ebay, and they're worth every penny.

well, the cracked crank case is on an F4.1, and i had problems with the carb coming loose and turning and stuff on that as well, but i also have the old S-25(i think thats what it is) that came used on the truck, and thats the one i had worse trouble with the carb. i did get the collar out of the block today tho...the metal ring on the carb barrel got left behind when i pulled the carb out a long time ago. so i did get the carb from the F4.1 installed on the S-25, and sealed up...i am praying that the darn thing just behaves.
 is there a trick to the amount of tightness to use on the pinch bolt? i think thats where i am running into problems.

also, if i step up to a more powerful engine like the ofna force .32, will i have to upgrade clutch springs to compensate for the power? i believe i am running an aluminum 3 shoe set with either .9 or 1.0 mm springs. if i go get a new engine, i wanna get something that will be impressive, yet easy to deal with for the price...$150 or under hopefully...but i dont want to destroy the rest of the drivetrain or completely upgrade it because i'm power hungry. thanks for all your help! i'll keep ya posted on the condition of the "Salvage"

Just snug it down. Too much force, and you'll crack the carb neck.

I'm running an F4.1 too. After it wears out, I'm thinkin about doing the trade-in for the K4.6.

if the case is cracked time for a new engine as was said above the carb is the least of your worries.

and no you wont need to do much to your clutch with the more powerfull engine.
as for the drive train if you haven't already I'd upgrade to the Hot Bodies CVD's for the center driveline at the least I've had mine for a few years with little issue just need to inspect them after every few runs and you'll be fine.
