Hey guys...
I took apart my engine recently because it was not working...the piston was broken! a big chunk rissed out the side...anywaya, I need a new piston/sleeve, possibly a conrod (do you have to replace the piston sleeve and conrod, or just p and s?). Any of you uys know where I can get one cheap, or do any of you have one I could buy? Any suggestions would also be helpful.

Thanks.

You need to change everything and it would help to know what type of engine.

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you arn't gonna find these parts cheap anywhere buddy.

piston and sleve part number 5230 goes for around 58 bucks everywhere i found it

con rod part number 5224 goes for about 25 bucks only found it at tower in limited qaunities.

I might suggest that if possible if you have a back up that you run that untill these motors are for sale in general that way hopefully the parts prices will come down. Thats 75 bucks for just those 3 itmes. The new motor with pull start is listing for 119 on stormer once it comes in. You may even be better off waiting till you can get on of them then you have a spare head block carb crank and so on for 40 bucks more any way i wish i could have found you all the parts for 40 bucks but since its so new its expensive. X

Another option might be to go to TRAXXAS with your problem and see if their engine warrantee program will cover the damage. If so, you might be able to trade it in or have them rework the engine for you.

What? you gota replace conrod piston and sleve? Er is that just because of the damage to the piston. In general you dont have to replace conrod if the piston and sleeve are worn out right?

X, that is cheap for a piston\sleeve, my LHS is selling them for $70 bucks, yep $70 bucks just for a piston\sleeve. I laughed in the owner's face when he showed it to me

Traxxas customer service is very good. I blew my TRX Pro up after only three months and about a gallon of fuel. They had me send it in with a copy of my reciept, 10 days later I got it back with a new piston, sleeve, conrod, and glow plug at no charge. You might want to try that first as Sky suggested before you dump a bunch of money on something they may cover under warranty.
