Hello everyone, i put the clutch on my new engine myself, looked at the instruction manual for a savage xl, problem is trucks wheels spins all the time unless i apply the brake. i am sure i put it on the new engine just as i took it off the old one. it spins freely. i drove the truck, just seems like the clutch stays engaged, it should sit still at idle right, any suggestions on what i have wrong may help. thanks still learning !:\

Hey, well, the good news is i put the clutch together right, THANKS YOU TUBE, but the bad news is the clutch springs are worn and the shoes weren't holding tight enough, had my friend check my work just to make sure i had it together right. Thanks Robert and L.A.F.F. field, so tomorrow my son and i are off to Little Rock to get a replacement set of springs. Man, i am just happy that i actually assembled my clutch right. anyway, the one time i had the Dynamite .21 running in my truck, it started easy, ran good, happy with it, thanks for the input everyone, i appreciate it. peace out!

Pick up an extra set of springs brother. Ya never know when you'll need em. Set of shoes wouldn't hurt either. Build them spares up!:)

Thanks, will do, I need springs and shoes so i will get extras. just hope Hobbytown in Littlerock has them in stock. lol

went to Hobbytown the other day, they didn't have springs so they bent and re-used my old ones, that was fine till the clutch springs get hot then it wants to pull at idle. I just ordered a new clutch shoe and spring set for it, I am gonna go ahead and replace the shoes and springs. but i am up and runnin with my little Dynamite .21, i am diggin this mill.

I got my new clutch springs and shoes in today so i replaced the pull-start on my Dynamite .21 and the shoes and springs. I have the engine installed back my savage xl and i am ready for some more fun at the park if it juat quits raining here. I have leaned out my engine about a turn so far I am gonna start tuning for maximum power the next nice day. should be intresting to see how much power it has in that truck.
